Close to Antequera, just 40 minutes from Casa Las Eras, El Torcal is known for the most beautiful and impressive limestone landscapes in Europe.
It goes back 200 million years, when much of Europe and the Middle East were submerged under the Tethys Sea. It was formed the accumulation of skeletons and shells of marine animals in the seabed.
There is a visitors centre and cafe on site…well worth a visit!
